West Side Cycles Ireland is Galway’s only specialist mountain bike shop with over 16 years of experience catering for the needs of the everyday cyclist and the mountain bike off-road enthusiast and local mountain bike racing competitor.

We were the first bike store outside Dublin to stock Cannondale bikes in Ireland and have become the main stockist for several of the top international brands of bikes in Galway over the years e.g. Specialized, Kona, GT, Klein and Gary Fisher. Nearly every season we have introduced another new top international brand of bike to our shop and Galway city.

In 1996 we set up Galway’s first ever off-road mountain bike club and within several months our members were racing in the national league of mountain bike races around Ireland. Many of our under 14 and under 16 members finished the season among Ireland’s highest ranked competitors.

In April 2008 we launched our new business venture specialising in bike hire and cycle tours across the west of Ireland. We offer several different cycle routes in Connemara and the Burren as well as top international brands of mountain and triathlon bikes that can be hired daily or for the weekend for the local markets. In May 2008 we became a main stockist for Merida bikes in Galway and Ireland. We have over 20 different bike models on display showing our clients a wide range of different types including triathlone bikes, mountain bikes, road racing, flat bar road bikes, city bikes, hybrid bike and BMX bikes.

For the 2010 season we will be stocking more than 30 different models of bikes on display in our shop from the current 2010 Merida bikes range.
